Case Study - Overcoming Anxiety and Rebuilding Self-Confidence
Client Overview / Challenge
One of my clients, a bright, capable woman in her 30s working in a busy office, struggled with constant self-doubt and feeling like an outsider. Originally from outside the UK, she often compared herself to colleagues, feeling they were more confident, knowledgeable, or “better.”
Despite performing well at work, she struggled to believe in herself. Early life experiences had left a long-lasting sense of not being good enough.
Day-to-day, this looked like:
- Second-guessing herself before meetings
- Avoiding contributing ideas even when she had expertise
- Feeling anxious in social interactions at work
- Tension in her body before and during presentations
RTT® Hypnotherapy Approach
In our RTT® session, we gently explored the root causes of her long-held beliefs and helped her see how these patterns developed. By understanding where these feelings came from, a quiet shift began — she started seeing herself as competent, capable, and worthy.
Over the following weeks:
- She listened to her personalised RTT® recording daily, which reinforced positive beliefs and helped her see anxious thoughts as temporary and separate from her true self.
- She attended weekly follow-up calls to reflect, track progress, and strengthen her new mindset.
This structured approach helped her gradually replace self-doubt with practical, grounded confidence.
Transformation / Results
Three months later, she reported feeling freer and calmer at work:
- The anxious inner voice had quietened
- She contributed ideas in meetings
- She felt respected by colleagues and more included in discussions
By six months, she had:
- Held her ground in situations that previously felt overwhelming
- Felt proud of how she handled difficult interactions
- Experienced small but important shifts, like smiling more naturally and speaking up confidently in casual team discussions
Described her self-worth as “something I can feel now – it’s real.”
She now approaches life with greater calm, self-trust, and confidence in her own abilities, noticing subtle yet powerful improvements in daily interactions.
