What to Expect from Your RTT® Hypnotherapy Session

Please take a moment to read through this information before your session. Understanding it will help you feel more relaxed and confident, so you can get the most out of the experience and set yourself up for the best possible results.

Feeling unsure about what happens in a session is completely normal. Here’s a simple overview so you know exactly what to expect.

Before Your Session

You’ll receive a short intake form and simple instructions for joining your online session. This helps me understand what you’re experiencing and tailor the session to your needs.

Some issues shift in one session; others may benefit from two or three.

During the Session

Your session lasts around two hours and takes place online in the comfort of your own home or any private space you choose.

You can expect:

  • A gentle conversation about what’s going on for you

  • Guidance into a deeply relaxed, focused state

  • Exploration of the root cause of your issue

  • Reframing old beliefs and patterns

  • Personalised suggestions to support the changes you want

You remain aware and in control throughout.

What Hypnosis Really Feels Like

Hypnosis is a natural, familiar state, like being absorbed in a book or drifting before sleep.

You can talk, move, or open your eyes at any time.

It doesn’t make you do anything you don’t want to do.

After the Session

You’ll receive a personalised audio recording to listen to for 28 days. This helps reinforce the new beliefs and insights from your session.

You’ll also receive follow-up support, including:

  • A 15-minute check-in after 1 day

  • Another at 7 days

  • One more at 14 and 21 days

  • A video review at 28 days to reflect and celebrate progress and check you’re still feeling strong, clear, and on track

How long is a session?

Sessions last around two hours. Please allow a little extra time so you’re not rushed.

What does it feel like?

Most people describe it as a deeply relaxed, focused state, similar to being absorbed in a book or drifting just before sleep. You remain aware, in control, and able to speak or move at any time.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?

No. You can open your eyes, adjust your position, or speak at any point. If the call disconnects, you may drift into light sleep, but you’ll naturally open your eyes when you notice the silence.

What if I don’t go deep enough?

Not at all. Depth isn’t linked to results. Some people feel very relaxed, others feel lightly focused, both are equally effective.

What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?

Even if you have an idea, most people see things in a completely new way during the session. Your mind tends to show you what you need to understand, often with surprising clarity.

When will I start to see changes?

People experience change in different ways:

  • Immediate: noticeable shifts during or right after the session

  • Incremental: steady changes over days or weeks

  • Retroactive: you look back and realise how much has changed

All three are normal.

How many sessions will I need?

Some issues shift in one session; others may benefit from two or three. We’ll discuss what feels right for you based on your goals and what comes up in the work.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions are held online via Google Meet, FaceTime, WhatsApp, or phone, whichever feels easiest for you.
