THERAPY FOR LASTING FREEDOM

RTT® Addiction Hypnotherapy: Breaking the Cycle of Habits

Move Beyond the Struggle of Willpower

Whether you are navigating challenges with vaping, alcohol, sugar, or compulsive overthinking, it is helpful to remember that these patterns do not define who you are. Often, habits develop as a natural way to manage stress or emotional weight.Addiction Hypnotherapy through RTT® offers a way to understand the underlying purpose of these patterns, making it easier to move towards a sense of lasting balance and release the "need" for the habit.
Your habits began in your mind, and that is exactly where they can be released. By understanding what drives the pattern, you can finally find the freedom you have been looking for.

Working With Your Mind, Not Against It

If you have ever felt frustrated that you cannot “just stop,” it is because willpower only uses a small part of your mind. While your conscious mind wants to change, your subconscious is often still running an old script designed to protect or soothe you.

Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) helps align these two parts of your mind so you are no longer fighting yourself.

  • Find the Reason: We look at why your mind created the habit in the first place.

  • Break the Link: We update those old thoughts so the “need” for the habit starts to fade away.

  • Find Your Focus: Instead of feeling deprived, you start to feel a new sense of calm and clarity.

Trusted Support for Real Change

It is natural to look for evidence when choosing a therapy. Many leading health organisations recognise the role hypnotherapy plays in changing habits:

The NHS notes that “Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to try to treat conditions or change habits.

Cancer Research UK highlights that hypnotherapy can support people looking to reduce cravings by addressing the psychological triggers behind them.

By using these proven principles, RTT® helps you move away from the “all or nothing” struggle and towards a more peaceful relationship with your choices.

Freedom from a habit is about more than just ‘stopping’, it is about rediscovering who you are. Read how a client in her 40s broke the cycle of alcohol dependency and reclaimed the joyful, self-assured woman she thought she had lost.

“I felt like I had lost who I was and mourned the person I used to be. I did not recognise myself anymore.”

Kirsty came to me struggling with alcohol misuse and the emotional weight of perimenopause. Through RTT®, we did not just look at the drinking; we resolved the deep-seated self-doubt and “dark thoughts” that were fuelling the habit.

Over six months of guided transformation, Kirsty moved from feeling “utterly lost” to feeling unrecognisably happier and more hopeful.

Addiction Hypnotherapy FAQs – Common Questions About RTT®

Will one session be enough?

RTT® is specifically designed to create significant and meaningful shifts in a single session. Because we work with the subconscious mind rather than just talking about the problem, change can happen very quickly. However, everyone is different. Depending on how long you have held the habit and the complexity behind it, some clients find that two or three sessions provide the most complete and lasting transformation. We will discuss a plan that feels right for you during your free consultation.

Can you make me stop the habit?

Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process and not a magic switch that happens to you. I cannot make you do anything your mind does not want to do. Instead, we work together to align your subconscious desires with your conscious goals. When we remove the need or the urge that drives the habit, stopping does not feel like a forced act of willpower. It feels like a natural choice that you are finally in control of.

What if I have tried to quit before and struggled?

Most people who come to me have already tried many other methods, from nicotine patches to sheer willpower. The reason those methods often fail is that they only treat the symptom without addressing the emotional driver. RTT® is different because it goes to the root. Once you understand exactly why your mind is clinging to a habit, the habit loses its power over you. Past struggles are not a sign that you cannot change. They are just proof that you have not found the right tool until now.

Will I be “under” or out of control during the session?

This is a common myth. You are never out or asleep. Hypnosis is simply a state of deep and relaxed focus, much like being engrossed in a great book or losing yourself in a film. You will be able to hear my voice and you can speak throughout. You remain fully aware of everything happening. You are always the one in the driving seat and I am simply the navigator helping you find the right path.

What if I cannot be hypnotised?

Almost everyone can enter the state of relaxation required for RTT® as it is a natural brain state we enter every single day. If you have ever daydreamed or found yourself arriving at your destination without remembering every turn of the drive, you have experienced a form of hypnosis. It does not require a specific personality type; it simply requires a willingness to follow simple instructions and a desire for change.
