RTT® Hypnotherapy: How It Helps with Anxiety, Confidence, and Self-Belief

RTT® Hypnotherapy is a form of hypnotherapy that explores the patterns behind thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Many people come to it when they feel held back by anxiety, self‑doubt, confidence blocks, or work‑related fears that do not match who they are today. RTT blends elements of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, and CBT to help people understand where certain responses began and how those patterns show up now.

Working with the subconscious mind, RTT looks at the root of these patterns. We explore key moments from your past, not to dwell on them, but to understand the beliefs and meanings your mind created at the time.

From there, RTT uses clear, focused language and imagery to support new, more helpful interpretations. It is a way of updating old internal narratives so they reflect who you are now, rather than who you had to be then.

If you are looking for a clear explanation of what RTT® Hypnotherapy is and how it works, this guide walks you through it in a simple, grounded way.

How is RTT different from other therapies?

If you’ve tried other therapies but felt like you were only scratching the surface, RTT® Hypnotherapy offers something different. It works directly with your subconscious mind, addressing the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms, often creating fast, lasting change in just one to three sessions.

Here’s what makes RTT unique:

  • Works at a deep level: Targets the subconscious mind, where long-standing patterns and beliefs are formed.

  • Focuses on the cause: Helps you understand and resolve the source of your challenges, not just the effects.

  • Personalised reinforcement: You’ll receive a bespoke audio recording to continue supporting your transformation after the session.

  • Real, lasting change: The aim isn’t just to feel better temporarily, it’s about creating lasting, meaningful change from the inside out.

What Happens in an RTT® Hypnotherapy Session?

Every RTT® session is supportive, personalised, and completely safe. You stay in control and aware the entire time, so you can feel comfortable and confident in the process.

RTT sessions usually involve guided relaxation, exploration of early patterns, and time to reflect on what came up. The process is steady and collaborative, and you remain aware and in control throughout.

RTT can take place online or in person, and many people find remote sessions just as comfortable for exploring their inner world.

Here’s what you can expect in a typical session:

  • Start with a conversation: We begin by discussing what you want help with, so the session is fully tailored to your needs.

  • Enter a relaxed state: You’re guided into a deep, calm state where your subconscious mind can be accessed safely.

  • Discover the root cause: Together, we explore where the issue started and uncover insights that help explain your patterns.

  • Reframe limiting beliefs: Old, unhelpful beliefs are replaced with new, positive ones that support the changes you want to make.

  • Ongoing support: You receive a personalised audio recording to listen to for 28 days, reinforcing and deepening your transformation.

What Can RTT® Hypnotherapy Help With?

If you’ve been feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure why you keep repeating the same patterns, you’re not alone. Many people searching for answers, whether it’s “why do I always feel anxious?” or “therapy that actually works” find RTT® Hypnotherapy offers a fresh, effective approach.

RTT works by getting to the root of your challenges and addressing the beliefs and patterns that hold you back. Rather than just managing symptoms, it helps you make lasting changes from the inside out.

Many people also explore RTT when they feel caught in a fear response that does not match their current life. RTT looks at the original pattern behind that fear, often a moment when the mind learned to protect you in a particular way. Understanding that early imprint can help you make sense of why a fear feels so persistent, even when it no longer fits who you are now.

Some of the most common challenges RTT can support include:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, or racing thoughts

  • Low confidence or self-worth

  • Feeling stuck, lost, or like something’s “off”

  • Habits such as smoking, vaping, or emotional eating

  • Fear of change or fear of failure

  • Jealousy, comparison, or people-pleasing

  • Difficulty letting go of past experiences or beliefs

If you’re tired of repeating the same patterns or feeling frustrated with your progress, RTT can help you understand why this is happening and finally move forward.

If you’ve tried therapy, self-help, or just “getting on with it” but still feel stuck in the same patterns, you’re not alone. Many people come to RTT® because they’re ready for real, lasting change, even if they’re not quite sure how it will happen.

RTT is a gentle yet powerful approach, designed for anyone who’s open to exploring their inner world and understanding themselves on a deeper level. It’s ideal if you want to identify the root of your challenges and finally move forward.

You don’t need any prior experience with therapy or hypnosis. Every step of the process is clearly explained and fully guided, so you can feel safe, supported, and in control throughout your session.

The pace is always tailored to you, and nothing is rushed. You stay aware, grounded, and in control throughout the session.

Anxiety and Overthinking

If your mind feels constantly busy or you find yourself caught in loops of worry, RTT Hypnotherapy can help calm that inner noise. Confidence and Self-Worth

Low self-worth often comes from old, inherited beliefs, stories like “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t matter.” RTT helps you trace those beliefs back to their roots and replace them with a more empowering truth. It’s ideal for anyone wanting to build real confidence, feel self-assured, and finally see themselves in a positive, authentic way.

Addictions and Habits

Whether it’s vaping, emotional eating, scrolling, or drinking, habits are often ways your mind has learned to cope. RTT Hypnotherapy works by uncovering the underlying emotional triggers, the need for comfort, distraction, or escape, and meeting those needs in healthier ways. When that happens, the habit naturally loses its hold.

Phobias and Fears

Phobias usually stem from early experiences, sometimes even ones we don’t consciously remember. RTT gently brings to light the original experience that created the fear response, so your mind can release the irrational connection and replace it with calm and logic.

Q&A - Frequently Asked Questions About RTT

If you are curious about the practical side of RTT, these common questions may help.

A: It’s a really common question, and one I hear a lot! RTT works just as well online. All of my sessions are held over Google Meet, WhatsApp or FaceTime, so you can relax in the comfort of your own space. No travel, no hassle, just a calm, supportive environment where you can fully focus on your transformation.

A: It’s completely normal to feel unsure when you’re looking for the right person. What matters most is that you feel safe, understood, and comfortable with their approach. I’ve written a calm, step‑by‑step guide on how to choose an online hypnotherapist for anxiety or confidence, which can help you know what to look for and what to expect.

A: No. You’ll be fully aware and in control. RTT uses a relaxed state of focused attention, like daydreaming. You’ll remember everything clearly.

The NHS explains that during hypnotherapy you remain aware, in control, and able to respond — it’s simply a deeply relaxed state.

A: Almost everyone can. You don’t need any special skill,  just a willingness to follow simple guidance. You’re always in control.

A: Many clients see a big shift after one session. For deeper or long-term issues, one to three is typical. Each session includes a personalised audio to support lasting change.

A: Most people find RTT deeply relaxing and surprisingly revealing. You’re calm and aware the whole time, accessing thoughts and memories you might not usually connect with. It’s a chance to understand what’s really been driving your patterns, and to change them for good.

A: That’s completely okay, and very common. Emotions are part of the healing process. You’ll be supported the entire time, and many people find it’s a relief to let them out.

The NHS notes that talking therapies can bring up emotions as you explore thoughts and memories, which is a normal part of the healing process.

A: You’re always in control. RTT doesn’t force you to relive anything, it gently helps you understand and release what no longer serves you.

A: If you’re ready to let go of what’s holding you back and want to understand yourself more deeply, RTT could be a great fit.

Most RTT® sessions are £300, with many clients seeing real results in 1–3 sessions. Longer-term programmes, like Personal Growth, are tailored individually. We can go through all options clearly in your free consultation.
